SomaCow Media is proud to present ComaSow, brought to you by Mt St Helens Vietnam Band.

So an interesting thing happened. Well, I don't know if it's interesting because I am not sure what exactly happened...but some of our after show chatter recorded over the first few minutes of this show. You might not have even noticed if I didn't tell you but in case you did, I wanted you to know I did, too. So there's no Nandi as intro but I think you'll find us entertaining.

So we cut back in right before listening to our first song from Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band, "Anchors Dropped". The part of our chatting you missed was that this band came from one brother who told the other brother that if they got good at drums, they would start a band and drumming brother could name it. I then wondered if there were any good brother bands...

"Anchors Dropped" didn't last long. Geoff quickly recognized the 3/4 beat. I told him you could always tell a 3/4 or Waltz because you feel like you're getting seasick. Oh memories of dance lessons before our wedding. So since that song didn't last long, we went to another. Our second choice was "Dull Reason" and Geoff was feeling the nausea again. Maybe I shouldn't have told him about the seasick feeling with 3/4 time.

We had some of the most creative reviews in the chat room for this song! I do like the pic of the band that I found on their myspace page (see below) and I have to say, on 2nd listen while editing the show, the song isn't so bad! Let's see what else happens...

Well, we talk about guns. I have a very very left wing view on guns (I hate them). Geoff hates guns but he's playing Devil's advocate, I promise you. He always likes to go against me. We sure do know how to keep things light and happy on ComaSow!

So we finally get back to the band, "Going On A Hunt" was our next song. And on to the fourth and final song, "Albatross, Albatross, Albatross". At least "Going On A Hunt" had a catchy beat! Let's see if you have it in your head, too.

Ha! Yeah, I also give my interpretation of "Blister In The Sun" in this episode, good times. Oh! I can't believe I didn't link this in the last episode, join us at our forum at http://somacow.net/forum yeah!

I just went to their myspaces and listened to them again.  The songs on myspace are a lot better than what I remember hearing on the show.  Maybe you have to just be in the right mindset to enjoy it or maybe they only put their best songs on myspace.

I thought the same thing when I was editing it...They sounded much better than the first time around. Maybe we were all just not in the mood Smiley

Sometimes you just don't hear the full sonic intention the first time around. The brain might focus on the more obvious aspects.
