Congrats guys. I am very fuckin proud to know I have friends like you all. I evern said so on my interview with CFNews13 En Espanol...but the eyebrows dude cut me down to a 5 second sound bite..AND cut my SomaCow plug.
Regardless...you guys rock assbawls. I swear...next year...I will do a bunch more to help...especially if we can do this maybe when it is a little cooler, weather-wise.
I was thinking last week that Aug 22nd, which is probably the hotest time of year, is probably the worst time to have fat people out in the sun doing physical activity. I think, the hot, fat, sweatiness, only added to the allure of the event. That is what it was all about, being fat and sweaty. I don't think it would be nearly the same if it wasn't so hot and fat and sweaty.
The event was great. The entertainment, from Wes rocking some PBR Radiohead to the guys with buckets and a guy playing one string on a guitar, was great. The drinks were strong, like way strong. And the raffle, MCed by non other then The Ross, was something else.
I had a great time and more importantly on the way home the boy said to me "Ya know, charity events can be really fun". If nothing else, that made the day worth it. He really can't wait to go back next year. I hope now I can set up a .05K stretch around the yard and get him practicing for next year. It's tough to get him motivated to exercise. This might just be the motivation he needs. He might want me to actually run it with him though.
