We get show content every week and I see nothing but people in the chat talking about it most sundays. I really don't get why we would can this. Counterpoint me, anyone?

I enjoy the movie reviews for the most part. There is the occasional movie that I don't care anything about (ie:Bruno), but I can still usually enjoy the discussion of them.
If I would make any changes it would be to stick to new releases (theater or dvd), the occasional foreign or independent movie that would otherwise be unheard of, and maybe the occasional old classic that either was award winning or features stars that are still talked about (Chaplin, Abbott and Costello, Bogey, etc.) -- and to change the rating system to something like the following...
Instead of stars tell us...
5 stars = A must see. If someone ask me to recommend some films to see, this would one of them. I would pay to see it again. I will buy a copy for my video library. I would pay your way to see it again, with you. You have to go see this on the big screen. etc...
4 stars = Worth the price of admission (or rental) and while I wouldn't pay to see it again, if it was on tv I would have to sit and watch it again.
3 stars = I would recommend someone to see it but wait until it is available for free to watch it. I could sit and enjoy watching this again, but if something else came up I could walk away.
2 stars = If it was on TV, and there was nothing else on, I would leave it on while I clean the house, read a book, work a puzzle or pay bills. There were a few good moments in the film.
1 star = Don't waste your time. Watching paint dry is more entertaining.

My issue is the movies not being available to people (thus us talking for twenty minutes about a movie nobody has heard of, seen or will be able to see). That's not anyones fault but blockbuster/netflix and redbox but we can work harder to choose movies that are available on at least two of those mediums. I love the conversation and i'm glad to hear everyone else does too

If you want to make it about me for a sec, the ones I could not get at blockbuster or redbox, I missed, Sorry. YOUR point this morning seemed to be that nobody outside the show was participating and/or cared about the bit, I hope the chat room that did nothing but talk about previous MotWs they had seen and this thread have corrected you on that. That being said, we can't do 3/4s of a show on sundays, if Jamie wants out, cancel the bit, I'll delete the imaging and remove the links.

That's not anyones fault but blockbuster/netflix and redbox but we can work harder to choose movies that are available on at least two of those mediums. I love the conversation and i'm glad to hear everyone else does too I missed the on show discussion of this so I'm not sure where the problem lies, but here are some blind suggestions. Don't make it a Weekly bit. If one, some or all saw a movie that week they can do a "SomaCow Sunday Movie Review" that week (or wait until others have seen it before reviewing). If no one saw a movie that week... move on to next topic. This removes all the cast from being committed to watching a movie every week and if someone didn't care to (or couldn't) see it, no prob. Instead of an On Show bit, move it to the Forum. Those that want can read and/or comment, while others can pass. Chat room comments during the live show are not always heard on the podcast anyway. No more worries about spoilers while listening. (although I hope people would give spoiler alerts in the forum) Don't worry about what others think. DO what makes y'all happy. It comes across on the show my personal thoughts on motwI listen just to get recommendations. I like hearing your opinions and discussions without spoilers. I realize I may be in the minority about this and that others like playing along and watching MOTW. I rarely pay to see a movie anymore because I'm tired of the crap the industry puts out. Payed movie critics and the award shows these days appear to pull stars/awards out of a hat (or a much darker place) so you can't go by their opinions.

This is the best way of reviewing movies because no everyone agrees, and whether you think you want to see the movie or not, it's interesting to listen to.

I agree. With very few exceptions in TV and Radio, audience participation doesn't work. Statistics have shown that even on a call in radio show, it's 2% or less that ever call in. The audience voting on AI is one of the few exceptions that I can think of and even there, it's probably a slim margin of the actual people watching. Those of us who participate here are an exception to the norm. People are tuning in, turning on or interfacing for entertainment. People don't respond well to homework. I used to practically beg people for input on various threads. They don't like it. I started following my heart and sharing what I love and attempting to give relevant information in 2 places here on the board and unless someone is fucking with me on the views, it seems to be paying off. Do the reviews or don't, we'll still be supporting it.

Agree with Foofa. I don't get to watch as many movies, but I like listening to the commentary and your honest opinions. The movies critics I did respect are either dead or unable to work. Please keep the bit

I don't watch movies much and I never catch the next weeks movie. I still like the show though. There has been movies talked about that I did see so it was nice to have others opinions of them.
I like the show - the heck with the haters......
