Tony the tiger is an advertising legend, but he's got nothing on this woman.

Her vanity plate....

Sometimes I wonder if some of my slang is just so old that you youngsters don't know it and sometimes I think you're just being humorous...
back in my day, "tang" was short for (heh heh) "poon-tang," which was what all you short-tailed little horn-dawgs wuz after!

On the other hand, we actually always had Tang in our cabinet when I was growing up. Do they even sell that any more?

I remember "poon tang" as being a sexual thang and the orange Tang was in our cabinet too.  They still sell it - I have seen it at Wally World.

Speaking of Tang, why do people buy stuff like that and Sunny Delight? The real orange juice in many varieties is right there in the store.

I wonder the same thing. We had "Grilled Cheese Friday" at work the other day and offer free Sunny D with it. I was reminded how horrible that stuff is.

Seriously, free grilled cheese and Sunny D doesn't not make up for raping my paycheck. I really hate Corporate America.

Sunny D is thick and nasty - I will drink real OJ before ever touching that stuff.  My mom used to buy Tang I guess because it was cheaper that real OJ but not as nasty as Kool-Aid.

Tang is only cool if you're a little kid pretending to be a 1970s astronaut, but then it is REALLY cool.

It has always been a novelty, in my world, never a substitute for a better beverage.

I thought the real turd was the ho promoting her hoo-ha on her car's tag.

And just how did that get approved by the DMV anyway.  Do you think GR8 DONG would get pass them as well?

Walmart here stopped selling Tang, as did a few of our grocery stores. I use it in a recipe for warm tea. Orange Koolaid just doesn't work the same.

On a side note...Walmart stopped carrying alot of items. As they put it, they are trimming their offerings. Recently they made the decision to stop carrying Heft and Glad food storage bags. They will only have Great Value and Ziploc on their shelf. I only shop for some of my food at Walmart because of the cheaper prices and not having as much money as I use to. Coupons have become my bestfriend.

That's how they get ya!  Cheesy

They are big enough to take a loss or break even on some items to get warm bodies in the store. Many of those people then buy magic beans since they're saving and not thinking through what they have just done. I like a lot of the store brand stuff, artificial sweetener is all the exact same thing.

But it's kind of like a dope dealer who gives you the 100% product when you start with them. Over time they diminish the quality because they know you're hooked.

That is in reference to them doing away with choices due to the bottom line.

This is what I believe the problem is with so many conglomerates. It's not exactly a free market when a handful of corporations control everything.

I will say, I write a list before I go shopping. I very rarely venture from the list. If I do, its when I'm at Festival Foods and usually only for a really good deal on fresh meat.

That, sir, is crazy talk. Five Alive is good stuff. It's not OJ, it's not lemonade, its just a little of both and it's good.
