That sounds like a lot of work.  Can I just sample yours at the SomaCow Christmas Party?

As an aside:

I would never want to become separate from my parachute.

I never guessed wrong again after that.

yours sounds deelish but I have no patience and I am too damn lazy for all of that:

Step one - Pour store bought egg nog into punch bowl
Step two - add So Co or whatever tastes good with egg nog
Step three - drink

I honestly thing Geoff should put out a cookbook. Or perhaps do a cooking segment on one of the shows.
Everything he makes sounds delicious.

Maybe in ten years. I have a lot to learn, and no real teachers. I'll take notes, and if I ever get great, I'll have something to start with.

Thanks for the compliments, even when all I do is conduit the info from Alton et al.

Being great is a mind frame.  You are great. You make dishes that are easy, fast and delicious.  It is what most people want these days since everyone is in rush to have everything yesterday.  So what if you take Alton's way/recipe and put your own spin on it to make it fit for you.  It still looks amazing and I am sure it tastes amazing as well.  A lot of really good chefs are self taught!!!
